The Maldives is a year-round diving destination, thanks to its tropical monsoon climate. However, the dry northeast monsoon season, spanning from November to April, is often preferred by divers, as water visibility can exceed 30 meters during this period.

The water temperature stays relatively consistent throughout the year, ranging from 26°C to 29°C.

När ska man åka?

Maldiverna erbjuder dykning året runt, men upplevelsen kan variera mellan de norra och södra atollerna.

Hur tar man sig dit och avgångshamnar?

Maldiverna är tillgängligt med flyg från olika delar av världen. Landets främsta internationella inkörsport är Malé International Airport (även känd som Velana International Airport), som ligger på ön Hulhulé, nära huvudstaden Malé.

Många internationella flygbolag har direktflyg till Malé från större städer i Europa, Asien och Mellanöstern. Från Nordamerika eller Australien kan en eller två mellanlandningar vara nödvändiga.

Majoriteten av dykningsexpeditionerna ombord på Maldiverna avgår från Malé på grund av dess närhet till en mängd utmärkta dykplatser och atoller. Vissa liveaboards kan dock också avvika från andra platser som Laamu- eller Gaafu Dhaalu-atoller, särskilt de som fokuserar på de södra atollerna.
