Origin
In 2012, a small team of avid divers got fed up of the same story: you book a week on a boat, you arrive, and the operation looks nothing like the photos. The captain hasn't seen a manta in months. The cabin is half what the brochure said. The currents were never going to suit your level.
We started Liveaboards.com to fix that. The first principle: every boat on this site is one we'd put our own family on. The second: when you book, you book with the operator directly — no chain of resellers in between.
Fourteen years later we're still independent, still owner-direct, and still picky about which boats we list. Below is what that looks like in practice.
What we promise
01
Every vessel is one a team member has either been on or done a thorough due-diligence call with. No auto-imported inventory.
02
What you see is what you pay. No hidden commission stacked on top — the operator pays a single fair fee only on confirmed bookings.
03
Most of our team dive. Your questions are answered by people who know what nitrox is and which boats run currents over the threshold.
04
If your boat supports free cancellation, we surface it clearly. If it does not, we tell you why.
05
For trips over $4,000 we offer a free 15-min call with someone who knows the destination before you commit.
06
We never delete a bad review (unless it violates our terms). Operators can respond publicly — same as you can.
